Whew I survived Christmas!

December 26, 2007

I am so exhausted from all the busy busy stuff of the holidays.  We traveled on Christmas Eve to hubby’s mom and had a nice visit with them and his brother.  It’s a lot of work for me with packing up and getting the stuff for the meal that we eat at his mom’s house.  Hubby’s leg was bothering him so I had to drive home that night and I don’t like to drive at night because the on coming headlights hurt my eyes and I ended up with  migraine!

I was up early Christmas morning before everyone else baking cinnamon rolls, getting coffee and hot chocolate going in my coco motion.  My stepson arrived around 7:30 that morning then we started opening presents.  Then it was cleaning up and getting the turkey going in the oven.  Once we ate our dinner I sat down with a blanket on my lap and the next thing I knew I was asleep and woke up and it was almost 5:00.  My Christmas Nap!  But I surely needed it.  I am very exhausted!!

We had a nice Christmas, his mom and stepdad gifted us with money and that is a guarentee no return type of gift!!  Dad gave us some money which I will be giving back to him for gas money, he can’t afford to give us money but it was so sweet of him.  He got me a build a bear game for my Nintendo DS.  Too cute.

Hubby made my Christmas, as I got two new cookbooks from the Taste of Home, one is a cookbook and one is a baking book.  I got a free year subscription from their magazine in one of the books and a cookbook cd in the other.  Woo hoo!!  Hubby also got me a book I really wanted, Trace Akins A Personal Stand and his newest CD (umm umm yummy).  I got an Agatha Christie game for my computer, the movie License to Wed, the second season of Grey’s Anatomy (I didn’t start watching this show until the episode with the bomb and that was towards the end of this season) and a season of CSI Miami.  I am set for a while!!!  I think the books and the game and movie and seasons of shows on CD’s is my hubby’s way of giving me other things to do besides the internet after what I have been through as of late.  He has seen me go through a lot. He knows I made that decision to pull away a bit from an online world so this will definitely help!!

Hubby got me this stuff called Head-On for migraines, I have had so many as of late and I know you all heard that annoying commerical, so now I have the product and we shall see if it works.  He had put that in my stocking with some razor’s and a bag of Jolly Rancher’s.

Today I am putting my house back together. I know most wait until after New Year’s to put Christmas Decorations away but we do it the day after Christmas.  This way we can relax and enjoy time together since hubby is off work, but does have to work this Friday but then is off till January 2nd.   One of those days in between we are so going to the Olive Garden, the girls mom gave me a gift card there and its my most favorite resturant!!

So I am off to get some work done and put my house back in order!!!!  I hope everyone had a good Christmas, as I know one of my sweet friends had a blue Christmas!

Aww, sounds like a good X-mas.. Same here, well it was just ok I spose. Didn’t feel like X-mas to me. The kiddies enjoyed the day and that was most important to me. Let me know how that HeadOn stuff works for Migraines, I get them allot too and might have to start looking for a new solution to this nightmare headaches.
    Chat soon I hope,, hugglies..
Thanks for all the cards by the way, I enjoyed them all.

Got something to say?
