Tough times I say!

August 20, 2008

As we were driving around this morning, you see asking my dad to run me to the store is always an adventure.  We never go or come home the same direction each time!  He so cracks me up.  I am at his mercy once I sit in that seat and close the car door.  One nice thing about being the passenger is I get to look around.  I noticed there is a lot of commercial real estate for sale and has been for months.  Its so sad to see.  I see some businesses up for sale and lots of little mom and pop shops are closed now.  I would definitely say these are tough times although the mayor of the city sends out this little newsletter stating otherwise.  I think he just wants to believe this himself.  It is going to effect the schools again and can see transportation will be an issue.  Luckily that is not an issue for us since my son attends school from home.   So it will be interesting to see what happens.

Have you decided who your voting for in the presidential election?  I haven’t yet.  I am really praying with this one and hoping I will be lead the right direction because I don’t really like either candidate at this point.  I am still waiting to see who they are picking to run for Vice Presidents.  My dad comes home from the mall everyday telling a different story regarding the democrats one day and republicans the next.

Alot of stores have closed in my area too and my mom is on the verge of loosing hers :( she just goes day by day and if it’s there she said she thanks God for it,if not she will just have to move on.She has been there over 20 years and has the greatest people to work for so if she had to go elsewhere it would be such a huge change so I am praying all works out.Lots of stores in our mall have shut down and so many jobs are laying off.All they will hire around here for mostly is part time 10 to 15 hours a week and to me it’s not worth it cause it would not even cover the gas to go back and forth.I thought about getting a job but I know I will never find one full time and with me not working for so long they would probably just sit and laught at me :(
I am not sure who to vote for at this point either.I dont really like either one, this country is already in so much trouble and looks like worse things will follow unless they can get it together and run it right.

I’m not voting. I don’t like any of the candidates. I really wish there would have been better ones running then what we have. I see another bad 4 years coming.

Got something to say?
