The worst luck with coffee pots!

I just seem to have the worst luck with coffee pots in this house.  I don’t know if its because it’s not a commercial one and I use it more than the average home or what.  For example not only do we make one pot of coffee (some times two) a day, but I also brew tea for Iced Tea in it, and that is another almost daily use.  I don’t see the sense in purchasing a Iced Tea maker when a coffee pot can do the same thing.  But the burner is constantly getting scratched to hell and then my pot sticks.  I think it’s my dad to tell you the truth because of his arthritis and being its heavy for him?  I don’t know.  So I been looking at capresso coffee makers and wondering should I invest the money now or no?  My coffee pot I have now was a limited edition one and its sort of a retro look and I absolutely love it, it even has a back light at night.  My hubby gets really funky when I have to replace things and he doesn’t understand I think the coffee pot gets a lot of wear and tear out of it with the extra brewing of Teas.  If it didn’t get scratched up then I wouldn’t need to replace it.  I don’t know what else to do!  Either they leak or the burner gives out!  Sometimes going the cheaper route isn’t always what is best, you get what you pay for.  BUT (that dreaded but) with my dad’s arthritis, do we really want to spend that kind of money?  I wish they could make a burner that is scratch resistant!!
