Scan is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon

After waiting for a day and no call from the medical campus, I put a call back to the lung doctors office and they said to wait another half hour then gave me a number to call so I could set up dads appointment for the PET scan.  Here, when I called them, they were calling an old number, which baffles me if the lung doctors were calling me at the correct number, how did they give them a wrong number?  Its the little things like this that makes me want to scream get your crap together here!  So the appointment is set for 1:00 and we have to be there a half hour early.  Dad has to fast from 7:30 on (in the morning) so its an early breakfast then just little bits of water after that.  He just thinks the doctor is doing this for money.  Again he doesn’t know what exactly the scan is just that he is having another scan because the last one was abnormal.  I explained to him its not about the money, if your last scan was abnormal this is so they can see better.  He is not happy about the I.V. part (I explained for the fluid to “light” up so they can see better).

Then my mom calls wanting my help with her social security disability stuff.  She knows I take care of my dads and finally is getting hers.  After years of fighting with them, they approved it.  It really is a shame you have to fight for something that is needed and even doctors say so.  Trying to do this over a cell phone isn’t easy, helping my dad was a little different since he lives here.  I mean she had me on my cell phone via her cell phone, talking to them on her home line.  Just not the right timing right now.  So I had to dig out a file folder I had put away so I could help her.  Now she knows I helped dad get on the QMB program and got him help with another program on the drug coverage end of social security benefits so she called me already this morning about that!  Funny thing about mom, only calls when she needs something, but if I call her to just talk or something, no time for me.

I made a big batch of vegetable beef soup last night for dinner.  Tonight I am going to bake some chicken for us, not sure what dad will want, hoping some left over soup or left over chili since I made that for him on Monday.  Chicken is one of the few in the area of meats  my daughter will eat and she is off tonight so just makes it easier so I don’t have to prepare three separate things tonight.

Did I mention today is the 3rd and I woke up the ever loving checkbook and bills from dad on my desk again as I do every month.  I wish he could at least ask me!  State Farm is down online pay wise.  I am going to try again once I post this, if its still down, going to have to call the insurance office and try and pay over the phone.
