Predisone to the rescue??

Just wanted to post a mini update in regards to my dad. We got right in once we arrived to the doctors office. Its not his shoulder, but the arthritis is now affecting his back! All we can do is manage his pain and they increased his predisone to 8 pills a day for two days, then 7 for two days, then 6 for two days, etc..until we get him back on this dose he is currently taking prior to this flare up! Just what his mouth doesn’t need right! UGH!! They wanted to give him a cortisone shot but he refused, it would of been a jump start on the pain management and such but he said he heard how very painful they are and well I couldn’t imagine if he is already in so much pain now that 2 vicodin every 4 hours isn’t helping that it would hurt that much worse. If he isn’t better by Monday or at least showing some progress in the good side then perhaps she can talk him into it then. There is only so much they can do!

I stopped to pick up some things he likes to eat like fresh watermelon and veggies and a few other stuff cause I am sure his appetite is gonna increase with all that predisone in his system. Lordy and I have to give them to him all at once not break up throughout the day. So I wanna make sure since he is up most days at 5ish before me that he eats something when he takes his meds…….
