Busy day decorating today!

After all that baking I did for Thanksgiving, plus the big meal itself, I was just exhausted after we had dinner and I did dishes.  I prepared the entire meal on my own, no help, but hubby did carve the turkey.  I think I probably just over did it.  Hubby went to visit his mom at his sisters, she moved in with them the week before, so she lives closer to us know, dad was “BORED” and was very verbal about it, which hurt my feelings,  it was boring being with us.  Because of the TIME of day I made dinner, I guessed I “RUINED” his day!  I made dinner at the same time as always on  Thanksgiving.  Just can please them all the time.  So he left just before hubby did to go I have no idea where, so I went back and laid in bed and watched Deperate Housewives on Lifetime.  When hubby got home he came in and got me then I got dessert set up.

Today I was busy decorating the house for  Christmas!  Hubby and I got the front room (screened porch) set up with our Nativity, and the angel, then we put the Christmas Tree out there ( a smaller one) and a deer that lights up.  It looks so cute.  I wish the stores still carried the pieces of Nativity’s.  We still needed the camel, and lamb to it.  Hubby said he was going to look online and see if he can find them.    The inside of the house I was working on when hubby was getting stuff move around to make room for all the storage boxes with our Christmas goodies.  After dinner was  time to do the tree.  Of course my daughter was going to help and being on the computer and her cell phone was more important.  Twice I went in and she kept saying I be there in a minute, so hubby put the plastic hooks on the shatterproof ornaments that we picked up for the bottom of the tree because of the kitties (keep them safe as they tend to try and play with the decorations), so I just decorated the tree.  I am not going to beg my children to spend time with me.  Traditions I feel are important and I value this time, it means more to me than any present anyone could ever give me, but I am not going to beg either.  So perhaps I need to start a new tradition and just not count on the kids to help, this way I won’t be disappointed.  My son was a total shit when we treated them out to dinner at a local little pizza place, they had this special for $6.99 that included the drink, we had pasta (my son had chicken parm), and he was so rude and disrespectful and raised his voice with hubby, he pretty much was done for the evening.

I am looking for some like candlestick lights that are battery operated and not very tall, to put next to the Nativity scene on my shelf.  I think it would look so pretty with little light next to it.  Think we could find them?  NO!  I seen those little tealights ones but not sure if that would be bright enough glow.  Maybe next year or I will keep my eyes open.  I just thought it would look pretty.  Since hubby’s mom gave us this bookcase that has glass door that open up and slide in, like a display case sort of, I have the Nativity in there and it looks so cute.  Just needs a little light I think.  Oh a cute little star would be sweet!

I am going to sit down and make my list of cookies I am going to bake this year.  Dad keeps promising people boxes of cookies and I wish he stop that.  I do for family, a few neighbors and close friends.  I do for his one friend at the mall and now he has this list ever growing.  That is a lot of baking for me, not to mention the expense ya know.  I know candy wise I am definitely doing my buckeyes again.

Dad has his appointment with the rheumatologist today and he did not get his Humira shot.  She said until the shingles totally healed and cleared, she didn’t want to give him the medication because she was concerned they would come back.  OH we don’t want that.  However he lost 7 pounds.  He told them he hasn’t been eating as much as normal.  Well that would be about right for the one week he had the worst of the shingles, but he eats a lot, and wasn’t upfront about having the trouble going to the bathroom.  So I wrote it down in my journal to bring it up with the main doctor.
