He wants a what?

My stepson cracks me up sometimes. It seems he and his step dad are having some issues at his mom’s house. This really isn’t anything new, they tend to butt heads a lot. Personally I think he needs to show them some more respect at times, he will open his mouth and say things before thinking and it causes arguments. If he just keep quiet it would save some headaches. Well he is talking about getting a Rackmount lcd panel for in his car, so he could just get a mountable computer and just stay in his car and not go into the house! He said he just watch some DVDs from his car, or play games and avoid his step dad. Now if he was talking about getting this for auto stuff, because he tends to go to other peoples home to work on cars and have his software with him that is one thing, but to avoid an argument with his step dad? No I don’t think that is in his best interest. Shoot as much as my dad loves to drive and play on his computer I could just see him multi tasking and wanting to do this too!!

My prized candle collection

I did post this layout at my scrap blog, but its one I want to show off here at my journal blog too!! This is a scrap layout I made from a picture I took yesterday evening of my bakers rack that I converted into a candle rack! This is my prized collection as all these candles have been hand crafted by my sweet friend Lara, the proud owner of thesagegrove.com! I found those cute tea-light holders you see on the top shelf yesterday and they are holding two scented tea-lights too! The jelly jars on the bottom shelves I do burn those, but the pillars I haven’t burned, I just think they are so very pretty and the matching votives too!! So I wanted to show off scrap page here too!! I love it and it sits to the left of my desk in front of the window there!!

First post for 2009

My first official post for 2009!! Happy New Year to all my friends and visitors who just happen to click on over to visit. It is hard to believe a new year is upon us! I am not sure what lies ahead for us this year, but going to take things one day at a time!

So I was a little hurt and disappointed today, as I had a little something planned for my daughter this afternoon but she said her and her boyfriend were headed over to his house to grab a few two play gamecube games then they be right back and didn’t get back until 20 minutes before dinner time. Well yeah I was upset and wasn’t going to pretend other wise! Seems like whenever I try to plan a little something that is a surprise it just falls apart. You know she is 19 now and I am trying to grab every little moment I can.

I took pictures of her cake and my dad got her a card that made her tear up, and honestly I did too, was one of those tear jerker moments. I love to scrap it for her to have later for a memory but not sure where she put it and will have to ask her for it later on.

Hubby is playing a game, and I think I may upload pictures off the camera and maybe do a little scrapping tonight.

OH guess how much Raskal, our youngest kitty weights? 17.7 pounds!! He is one big kitty. Hubby thinks he needs to diet. I don’t think so, he is beefy but a big boy. He isn’t one to beg for food, unless its hubby’s ice cream, he doesn’t care for anything else. I play fetch with him with our paper balls for exercise so will watch and see. We only put down 1 cup (measuring cup too) of Cat Chow in the cat’s dish, twice a day and the three of them eat from it. Will have to watch and see from here on out.

Cookie Boxes Sample

This is a picture I took of the box of cookies I make up for Christmas that went home with hubby’s mom and sister in law!! I make up boxes every year to give to family, friends and neighbors. We had just about a dozen of each kind left by the time I made up the boxes for us, but of course hubby have a few dozen buckeyes so it was all good. But I thought I would post to give you an idea of what my goodies boxes look like each year.

Hubby thinks I should make up a flyer and sell them next year. I think he is nuts!!!

Todays project, light fixture

I have to figure out why hubby’s phone can’t upload to our Verizon account for online storage of photos taken with the cell phone, as he took some before and after shots of the bathtub and was going to show you the differences there. But for now I shall show you today’s project.

This was the old ceiling fan. As you can see, when we moved in this fan didn’t even have a cover for the light bulb. Of course that bulb you see there, BIG RIP OFF, was suppose to be one of those new save you money bulbs and was suppose to be a dimmer bulb to boot and guess what, it wasn’t!! Needless to say its out in the garage waiting for the garbage man to come and haul it away!! Now its hard to picture perhaps but our living room is to the left, then the fireplace then this area where the ceiling fan is, that is the window where my candle rack is (YES you read that correctly, I turned my baker’s rack into a candle rack, wait until you see it, I love it so much I been working on it, I took a picture tonight to scrap it!!.. Any how its just one big long area 27 feet long from front door to over here by my desk with that one little ceiling fan, just was an eye sore really.

Hubby put in this pretty double light fixture!! Well I call it double because it holds not one, but two light bulbs and I think its very pretty and I think it looks much better. Our power was shut off when I took the pictures to show a before and after and using my cell not really the best pictures but gives you an idea of what we did. We hope this summer to paint the walls a lighter shade, our living room and hallway walls are like a smokey tan color. Then again we do need new windows so maybe 2010 before we paint!!

So that was the project of the day before taking our daughter to dinner with dad. He wanted to take her to the Cracker Barrel, and everyone had a good meal, was nice I didn’t have to cook!!
