My daughter wants a credit card

July 11, 2008

I have to tell you the topic of credit cards, during today’s time is a very sticky situation.  With my daughter just graduating high school, getting her job, and starting out, establishing credit can be a bit tricky.  I worry as she seems to be relaxed in the area of providing information to get a credit card.  Now I don’t think she should just up and get a credit account, but I really thing she needs to do her homework first.  I came across this site where they offer credit card reviews.  They provider their readers with vital information and break things down to help people understand about the different types of cards available.  I personally wish this was something available a long time ago!   They give you some suggestions in which type of credit card to apply for, how to choose a credit card.   For someone who has no credit, it can be tricky getting your credit up and going.  I explained to my daughter that I will not co sign for her, its not that I don’t trust her but life happens and you have to think of those possibilities.  She is going to have to do this on her own and may take some time and hope she is able to find one card that doesn’t require fees.  But to only use it in case of an emergency.  My stepson right now is a bit over his head and I don’t want that to happen to her.  So I think this would be a great site to pass on to her to check out.  Of course if she has any questions I am right her to help her all I can.

This will so crack you up!

The web dangerous place for hubby

July 11, 2008

So today is hubby’s official last day of vacation, although he still has the weekend, its still his last day of vacation.  He spent a lot of time surfing the web this week and about drove me bonkers about things.  Between the OMG! (yahoo’s gossip stuff) and his exploring of a variety of websites, he just drove me nuts.  For instance now keep in mind my hubby and technology do not always go hand in hand.  I am the go to person when it comes to computers in the house, from fixing, cleaning, reformatting, you name it.  If you remember last year I got my hubby a flat panel television for Christmas.  Now he is thinking of adding digital signage box.  Oh OK sure!  I am the one who has to connect the DVD player, the component wires to the Wii and he just thinks he is going to mess around with this?  Why?  I honestly have to tell you I don’t see a need for this for us.  Just something else for me to worry about he cats knocking over and breaking or perhaps surging out on us with the power surges we get from time to time.

Mesothelioma concern

July 11, 2008

There is a few law offices here in Ohio who keep running these ads on television about if you were ever exposed to asbestos and diagnosed with mesothelioma to contact them to see if you have a case.  Now my father has COPD and emphysema and really has a hard time with fluids in his lung, he use to work in a part store and he turned a lot of drums and rotors and I have some concerns about this.  I have asked my dad several times to go see a lung doctor just to make sure he has no other issues with his lungs due to some other symptoms he has for a while.  He just won’t budge.  Like today he had a piece of lettuce stuck in his throat because the liquid from his lungs is so thick it scared the daylights out of me.  This happens from time to time.  But he really needs to see a specialist who can help him with this.  I did give him a muscinex to thin it out and it helped.  But I know there has to be something else that can be done.  But I can not force him to go, only encourage him and well nag him about it.  But after seeing all these commericals and reading up on it, I really would like him to get checked for it since he was exposed for so many years.

Ever lose your post?

July 11, 2008

Have you ever had something you wanted to post about and you just up and forgot what it was?  I had quite a few of those moments today!!  I was talking to my neighbor who does not own a computer and she has been under the weather and needed to do some pricing for some bridesmaid gifts so I invited her over to use my computer.  Her daughter is suppose to be doing this but she is at work until really late at night and just has not had the chance to do it.  As a matter of fact they called my daughter in to help tonight and I am very proud that she left her boyfriends and headed back to work.  She has been up since 4am and worked till 11am, and tomorrow has to be back there at 6am to work until noon!  But you know she got that first paycheck and was like hey money is money!!  You go girl!  So I helped my neighbor look around for some ideas and prices and printed a few things out for her to give to her daughter.   But over the course of my day I had things happen and I was like wait until I sit down and post and ha you think I remember them now??
