I have nothing up my sleeve

February 29, 2008

Well dad came home, still unable to find the house payment I gave him to mail today.  We were talking with hubby as we retraced what he did today since I gave him the bills to mail.  He even went back to the Walmart Super Center and walked every isle we were in today and still could not find it.  So I was going online to put a temporarily stop payment hold on the check until I could get to our bank tomorrow or Monday to sign papers, dad was talking to hubby and he took his coat off and something fell out.  Hubby said what that?  Guess what it was?  The missing bill.  It was in his coat sleeve, it was bent like rounded like an arm.  All you could do is just laugh at that point.  Poor man said now my stomach can stop hurting!!  He felt terrible.  So I went online and the site was up this time and I paid it, like normal.  All done!!

Whew!

Something simple could mean huge project

February 29, 2008

Well, this is the last year for the home warranty from buying the house.  As soon as Spring officially has sprung, I have to call to get them out to fix the back bathroom off our bedroom faucet that is dripping.  See in order to fix anything with water related, the water has to be shut off at the main and that is a pain in the behind.  But from the looks of it we are going to need a new vanity and all new pipes and I just do not know if the warranty will cover all that or not.  Something so simple could mean huge project that we just can not take on right now.  So hubby and I have been looking at bathroom vanities to see what we could do and go from there.  If not one thing it’s another

Not having a good day!

February 29, 2008

I am not having a good today.  My started out with my son telling me that his sister said OH by the way I am cranky because I didn’t get much sleep.  Now the reason this wasn’t funny to me is because she had babysat for the girls mom last night, on a school night and was not home till almost 12:30 a.m.  She has to get up at 5:30 a.m. to get ready for school as she has to catch the bus at 6:15 a.m.  So I had told her I better not hear about it being late the next day and that was the first thing I heard today.

Then I go to log my sons hours for his school work, as he has to keep a journal of his assignments, what he did, online classes he attended for that week and I log them.  Parents are responsible for logging the hours.  Today he was suppose to have the day off, as it was an in-service day for his teachers.  Long story short someone is failing math right now and when I look he has not done any of the assignments he is to do daily, except for ONLY those he HAS to turn in, the rest he is not doing.  What he doesn’t understand is at any given time that teacher can ask to see them.  So he got smart with me, I had a panic attack, emailed my husband to call home ASAP and let him talk to him.  He was told if I got any more attitude I was to email back, he leave work for 15 minutes to come home and “handle it”.

I had to run out to Walmart Super Center for a few things so he got a late start working this afternoon on his day off too boot!  But I knew he had the day off today and planned some things.

And to top it off, my dad called me an hour or so ago to say he lost one of my envelopes to mail, I asked was it big or small, he said the big one, and that’s our house payment.  I am hoping its in the lining of his coat, as I went online to pay it online like we always do and the site was down and I wanted to make sure I would not forget to pay so I figured I just mail a check.  NOW I may have to put a stop payment on that check and that cost from $35 to $50.

I am just NOT having a good day!!

I feel naked!!

February 28, 2008

My wedding rings were due for a 6 month check and cleaning, as well as a ring I got for Valentine’s Day in 2004,  as we took out lifetime warranties on them, but to keep that warranty I have to take my rings in every 6 months.  I woke up today and I am not feeling well, as I spent most of my day on the couch, so I asked my dad if he could take them to the mall with him and get my rings cleaned and checked.  This is the ONLY time I never take off my wedding rings.  NEVER take them off!!

So my dad came home around dinner time saying it was a good thing I sent my rings in, they had to keep them, ALL of them to have some work done.  I was so shocked, the have to reshape the bands and do some other work, as one was going to be falling apart.  Now I just feel naked.  I never NOT have my wedding rings on and I keep feeling my finger and its like a huge part of me is missing.  So I am glad I sent them in and I have to wait until March 10th before I can get them back.  MARCH 10th, that may not seem so long, but its like a whole day for each year I have been married and that feels like a LONG time!

Sometimes I have the worse things to do

February 27, 2008

Well I spent most of my time today scrubbing dad’s room down.  I took the bedding off to wash, you know sheets and blankets, and cleaned his entire room, from top to bottom!  I have to say I love having this canister vacuum, because I have the worst jobs sometimes to do.  He is in a hospital bed so I took the mattress off today to clean up all that wonder dead skin flakes.  E I E I GROSS!!  My daughter never moves nothing when she does her chores so I really had my work cut out for me.  His room was one of the biggest reasons I needed the canister vacuum, because it has to boldly go where no upright can go!  He had expired medication in a collector cup I threw away, is he insane?  Found a few other not so nice things and rather not go into details but just stick with the E I E I GROSS!!

I hurt my back today and my knee.  I just toughed it up and took some aleve, but boy I can feel the burn and pain tonight.  Can you feel it?  I moved everything in his room but two dressers and sure that is why, those hospital beds are not exactly light!!  But it was nice of dad to notice a difference in his room and say wow thanks!

Hubby’s appetite still the same with the no smoking.  It will be two months since he quit this coming Friday.  Last night I made come chocolate chip cookies for snack and he ate 9!!  Dad packed away 6 so no ice cream for him!!  Hubby’s sweet tooth has not curbed at all.  He wanted thirds at dinner and I had made a little extra so my dad had some left overs for his lunches.  Hubby sort of grumped a little (is that a word grumped?).  I really can not wait for spring so he can be outside working again.  He loves to be outside.

My daughter isn’t going to get to do senior project this year.  She had some paperwork for a month that she was suppose to get signed with the person she was doing her project with and of course waited till last minute and the gal was out of town so they said that was that.  It’s a hard lesson to learn but she is 18 and has to stop this last minute stuff.  That really drives me insane.  Just like when they have reports to do, if you have a month don’t wait till two days later then its MOM I need help!  I don’t mind but when its rushed and more like mom writing the report, mom has a problem with it.  So now this opens an opportunity for her if a position opens there to get a job.  The students were not allowed to do their projects at a place they already worked at so hoping this works out for her in the end.

Did I mention there was no school today?  OH that is never fun with my son since he goes to a charter school online, no such thing as SNOW DAYS for him.  So I really had to keep reminding him to do his school work.  Just really makes for a long day with the wonderful teen ‘tude!

A marriage without regrets

February 26, 2008

I have been hunting for weeks now for this book,  A marriage without regrets by Kay Arthur.  I have a subscription to Decision Magazine that hubby’s mom renews for us every year and in the last one that I received there was an article in it talking about marriage and talked about this book.  My heart really felt drawn to it and then my search began.  I had hoped to find it at a local store instead of having to order online.  Today I went to the family Christian bookstore and asked if they had it, a gal went to look in the family section and told me they no longer had it, I happen to walk past to look at some other books, thinking maybe I could find something else to read and guess what I found?  The book I have been looking for!!  I was so happy and excited and told her I found it and she was where and showed her as there is one more and thanked her again for her help.

So now I have updated my current reads and have already read chapter one.  With so many changes and stress in my personal life, I just really felt in my heart I need to read this book.

That little stinker!!!

February 26, 2008

Well I had to go out and put gas in the car and while I was away it seems no one was paying attention to Raskal.  Take a look at the photo’s below this post.  Now all I can say is its a good thing that was NOT a full roll of toliet paper.  Could you imagine the mess?  I am definitely going to scrap these but I had to post to show you!!  That little stinker!!
