Giuliani steps down from running for president
January 30, 2008
Well, sadly enough I just removed my I support Rudy banner from my blog. I have to tell, during the crisis of 9-11, I told my husband and family that he would make a great president and I hoped when the time came he would run for office. When he decided to run I was very excited and wasted no time showing my support for Rudy. But I am sad to hear that he has stepped down from the Presidential Race, since he didn’t win over Florida.
I have to give him credit, not once did I see a “smear” approach to his campaign. I have grave respect for him. He really did a good job getting the city of New York on it’s feet during his time of being Mayor.
Now I know he is supporting McCain, but I am not 100% sure at this point and time as I need to review the candidates again and pray for help on this one. I do not support Clinton at all. I just do not feel deep inside at this point and time she is the right person. Again I say we need to give someone else a change. She and Bill had hers. I do not want Bill as our first lady.
So Thanks to Rudy Giuliani for stepping up to the plate and giving it a shot!! Maybe we will see you again in the next race!!
How can my day seem to slip by but still feel so long?
January 30, 2008
Mondays and Tuesdays seem to be long days, I know its in part with the girls having them for 12 hours each day, then my afternoon just disappears as I play taxi cab to and from schools, come home and prepare dinner for 7 people. By the time the girls leave, I am just exhausted.
Of course it doesn’t help when you come online to do your backup’s to check your stats, I mean curious to see how much traffic I may or may not get and find at one of my sites someone is trying to crack my log in information for my blog. I mean seriously what is the point? What does one think they are going to find that in theory they can not see plain as day from all the pages and posts I have? This is why I backup…backup…BACKUP! I test my backups and I scan for viruses so if something happens it will just be a matter of maybe a day worse case to get my site back up!
Also I have to say, if you want to visit someones site why the need to “hide” or mask yourselves? I mean this really just doesn’t make sense to me at all. You really have to be careful with such things too because you never know what that site may be doing “behind the scenes”. I certainly do not want any tracking spyware in my computer! But I guess when your trying to hack a site you want to hide who you are because obviously you know its wrong!
So really I don’t need the extra aggrevation when I already have a long day, because then it takes time away from things that are MORE important, my family, my bath, and checking on my friends to see how they are feeling after banging themselves up. Maybe scrapping some pictures or relaxing to a game of canasta at POGO. I can think of of many other things I rather do then having to deal with this type of nonsense.
So I guess I answered my own question of how can my day seem to slip by but still feel so long!
A Congressman makes what???
January 28, 2008
OK so as I am eating my Chicken and Noodles (it’s what I made for dinner and very delicious, my family loves it) and the news is on. So they are taking about a congressman who has only been at work part time but still making, get this $150,000. OK now let me get this straight, those idiots sit around and they say that my dad who gets under $1,000 a month makes too much money to get help with his medical care? What the hell is wrong with this picture? They sit around and say a person only needs $550.00 a month to live on. How do you people sleep at night? I mean seriously?
I am just sick to my stomach over this. Our men and women enlist in the military, I did, to protect our country, come home, and are veterans and they don’t do a damn thing for us, yet a congressman makes $150,000 a year??? Something very wrong here, very wrong indeed!
I’m sorry but you can NOT blame all the financial woes on the President! Oh yes he has made blunders, mistakes and what nots, but you can not put all the blame on him!
Our elderly, our veterans worked all their lives, for what? It is just a damn shame. I personally do not think that is is the direction our founding fathers had when they created our government and our laws. Not at all.
OGT’s…yeah you know me!
January 27, 2008
My son has his OGT’s coming up, those are the Ohio Graduation Test’s. The week of March 10th I have to drive him to Cleveland at a Holiday Inn to meet with other classmates and teachers to take this important test. I am having a hard time getting my son to understand the importance of these tests!! YOU MUST pass them in order to receive your diploma and graduate. Even if you pass all your high school classes and have enough credits, you still can not receive your diploma and graduate without passing the OGT’s.
So this mom went to work finding some helpful tools to help my son prepare for his test. I found these Ohio Graduation Test Flash Cards on the main subjects for the tests, math, science, reading and writing, and social studies. I ordered them directly from Hollandays Publishing Corp because this is something our local stores here do not carry.
There are books available and can be quite pricey as they are published by subject. So it was a great thing to find these handy flash cards.
Now the trick is to get my son to take the time to use them. They suggest just spending 30 minutes a day and review them, and the math ones well those honestly you need to take more than 30 minutes to understand. So I thought just a few days during the week and spend an hour each day the weekend isn’t too much to ask, especially when this is as vitally important in order to graduate! I think this is a top priority over just playing games all day long. But he said to me Friday he WASN’T going to do it and hubby and I both said OH YES you are! Now mind you we were away yesterday and came home this morning, he still had not touched them and then his friend called to see if he wants to come over he doesn’t understand that we said NO because he didn’t take the time like he was told to do and review the flash cards! Well you think he learn his lesson already about calling my bluff and challenging me so we are now at a stand off, he is pouting in the kitchen and I am ranting in my blog. Who do you think is gonna win? Let me give you a hint… He isn’t going to his friends!!!
When replacing a battery is financially wise
January 27, 2008
I have to tell you, yesterday when I was packing for our little get away, my watch was dead. I have three or four watches and all of them need new batteries. But I have to tell you it doesn’t pay to get a new battery, well unless they are luxury watches. I got a price at the jewelry shop to replace the battery and it was $10.00! No way, I mean the watch I wear the most was only $8.00! I mean seriously batteries cost that much? Makes no sense to mean to spend that much on a battery when the watch cost less.
Adventure: The finale!
January 27, 2008
I think I did good last night. I had a total of 5 fuzzy navels! They drew names to play family feud and gave away a grand prize of a GPS. Of course we didn’t play, well Harry’s name did not get drawn which is good, because I might of had to take that GPS and give to someone and say go find themselves, say oh I dunno his ex maybe. One time last night I was called by hubby’s ex wife name. NOT good!!
Hubby well he had a few more beers than my count of fuzzy navels and by 11:00 it was like OK your done lets go! He was a trip! Making fun of people OMG!! I kid you not!!! But he sleep quietly and like a baby all night!
The loud mouth well her hubby played the scavenger hunt they do like musical chairs, when they go out getting what they ask for they take one chair away. That was flipping hilarious watching grown men running around, and sliding, diving and jumping on to the chairs. The cash prize was $70. But her hubby made it about 4 rounds then missed so he was out and she was pouty and grumpy the rest of the night. Geesh oh man. Then her hubby wandered off to socialize, she smoked, stood around with this I am so impressed, came and sat down and just was attitude-ish the rest of the night pouty, I said you look tired, she said bored. We went back to talking to hubby’s sister and brother in law.
We won a $50.00 Visa gift card (woohoo), and his brother in law got two tickets to a Cav’s game, seems quite a few one those and were not too happy about it. My brother in law, we were working the room trying to find a fair trade for him but nothing came up. Someone offered to exchange for a halogen light but he said naaa. Go figure! They have away 12 bottles of wine, and bummer we didn’t get one! Not that I am a drinker but hey I like to try a nice wine, you know maybe take a shot of it each evening to help with the daily stresses of my life!
The music was nice, if there was a prize for the best chair dancer I would win hands down! OH yeah… the played Safe a horse, Ride a cowboy. OH man I was singing along to that one!! Everyone at our table laughed. Then they played Redneck Woman, sang that one too, and that was it for country. NO TRACE ADKINS, I am going to have to have a talk with the DJ!
Didn’t sleep well last night. I missed our kitties, just so use to having them with us, especially our baby Raskal. I guess he was a pistol last night, dad was watching a DVD and the cat unplugged the surge protector from the wall twice, shut off the television and everything. OH yeah he was looking for attention that gramps just doesn’t give. That’s just too funny.
Adventure Part Two: The loud-mouth
January 26, 2008
We went down early in hopes to grab a table and maybe it fill up quickly and that they would not be able to sit with us the couple where one is rude and interrupts you, but guess who was in the lobby when we walked around the corner. Thus it began!!! Is the bar open yet??? Here is my story:
OK here I am after having a little dinner with two fuzzy navels, or is that two fuzzy navels with my dinner, well actually two fuzzy navels before dinner, had a coke, when I get back to the party my third fuzzy navel will be waiting for me. This one guy that works with hubby is very nice, he is the one who called the house when hubby had his heart issue when he didn’t show up for work, because they know hubby is always there. But his wife, OMG I tell you what she just cuts in the middle of what your saying and takes over. OK she has interrupted me already like eight times. I just want to say excuse me but your being rude I am speaking. I mean seriously!! So I am refraining from what I say because her uncle also works where hubby does and guess who is sitting with us??? So I must be nice but here I am in our room blogging before I explode!
So the adventure continues….oh and yeah maintenance was here and fix the clogged drain!! But I don’t like the tub. I literally had to scooch (is that a word?) down with my legs going up the wall to rinse the shampoo out of my hair because its one of those shallow to deep tubs. Good thing the faucet was off!!!
Adventure part one: Clogged Bath Drain
January 26, 2008
Here we are at the hotel. First you must know its always an adventure for us when we try and get away. So I go to take my bath….and the tub drain here at the hotel is clogged. First I had to ask for towels because there wasn’t enough for two, so as I go to say ok now the tub is clogged, the gal is like oh did you get your towels, err no, but now the tub won’t drain. So she asks me to wait there, I had a seat, got my towels and she put a call into maintenance. OH the night has just begun!!!!!
