Tis’ Halloween!!

I just love Halloween. I know my neighbors across the street do not believe in celebrating it. I got a lecture last year and this year about it and well because of the problems with the kid bothering my daughter we are skipping a year of Halloween.
But what happen to the times when we were kids. Getting to dress up and be our favorite hero, character, or treat. It was fun to get into our costumes and go trick or treating. One of my fondest memories was growing up and my brother is older than me. He go by himself because he said I slowed him down. So that was fine I walked around alone but I was a smart cookie. I would go around the first time with my mask ON. Then I go around again with my mask OFF. LOL LOL Yes I did, I got double candy that way. I would always have a full pillow case and he didn’t. I remember one year he cried the big ass baby!!
Then idiots had to stick shit in the candy and we could not trick or treat at night anymore. It was always on the last Sunday of the month from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm. Who wants to eat dinner at 5, at least not meat and potatoes. Nope I wanted my candy.
I love decorate my house and my yard. Growing up my parents didn’t do that. So this is the first year I didn’t decorate and just doesn’t feel the same. But since we are skipping a year I guess it doesn’t matter. Having all that up would of made it worse to miss out I Think.
Last year I went with my daughter to Trick or Treat and remember having so much fun and hope that one day she will write in her journal about it like I wrote about what I remember about Halloween when I was a kid.
So have fun and stay safe tonight. Check that candy once, twice, three times, carry a flashlight!!

Google Tantrums

Well its seems to be the topic of many, (well that would be an understatement), is the Google Page Ranks. Personally I am just a bit fed up with it. It seems to me that Google is just throwing a tantrum because some companies have come up with other means of affordable advertising for businesses. I am sorry but in all honestly for Google to implement a page rank that everyone runs around in circles doing all they can to become a PR 1 is nuts. Unless your paying out the wazoo for the sponsored links, forget it folks.
The way I see this, its like having the different television networks and cable networks, all the newspaper, magazines, and junk mail that comes to your snail mail each and every day. To get your name out there, or product you advertise! So really what is the big deal for blogs who do paid posting? Why penalize them? I do paid blogging. Majority of web sites all have some form of paid advertising, say for example banners. So what is the difference between a banner or a word linked? It’s my site, it’s my blog, its my choice!
Another thing that is annoying while on the subject is whether or not I choose to link a word in my blog post, whether sponsored or not. That again really is my choice as its my blog. I have friends from all over the world and perhaps I talk about a place or product that they never heard of, they email me and ask me what it is, so now I just link it in my post. Again its my blog and if I want to link to a site, a post, what ever I will do it!
Hey you want to take away my page rank then go for it. So why not remove my Google toolbar and don’t use them for searches anymore, going to cancel my gmail account today that I set up for just blog contact purposes only. I am just one lil byte in the world of zillions of bytes so that really isn’t going to hurt or phase them now is it?
Some paid per posting company use the page ranking as a tool in which offers you can post. The higher your page rank the higher paid opportunities you have. So how is this going to play into that? Folks who had those high page ranks before doing paid opportunities are going to start being penalized and perhaps they paid google for the advertising to get their ranking where they are? Won’t that just tick them off? Hey sure I like to make the bigger money. I have a family I take care off, bills to pay and if it can keep me at home taking care of my family and continue to provide care to my father, then I am going to do it. Every little bit helps. Nothing wrong with that. I pay my taxes just like everyone else does.
Another thing that irks me is for years, since I opened my domain and blog I have used the same color for all text including linking and visited links. I use the no underline linking code to make my pages look more neat. So now its a big deal and have to have another shade of text for linking? What the hell is that about? That annoys me to no end and makes me really think about my future with one of the paid posting companies I blog for. Again its my blog, my choice and its getting to be just as bad as the pixel girls changing their terms so much that one can not keep up any more. End result there? I walked away and said forget it. MY loss money wise, not theirs.
So it boils down to greed. I honestly don’t see where this is hurting Google with folks doing paid postings. I mean its not like I am using a FREE blog, selling memberships to their blog to download their goodies they make, or using a free blog to generate money from paid postings. I bought my domain and pay for my hosting space. It’s mine as I stipulate in my disclosure and if you don’t like it, tough noogies!!
So I am not going to fret over my page ranking, anymore. It is what it is. I am going to continue to do my thing that I enjoy to do and that’s that and if that means by continuing to do my paid postings or continue to link to sites in my blog entries, then that is my choice. If I end up with a zero page rank then so be it. I didn’t open my blog to win a contest or become the queen of all blogs. Its an endless rat race folks. Don’t give them the satisfaction.

WOO HOO WOO HOO WE DID IT WE DID IT. WOO HOO WOO HOO!! I could shout that all day let me tell you! So I am sitting here doing the dastardly duty of paying the bills that we all dread that we have to pay. At the end of the cool winter months into summer time, we owed the Gas Company a little over $900.00!! That was even with us paying the budget at that time of $121.00 a month!! The damn gas supplier was charging us 16.95 per MCF. I kid you not they were!! Even when the prices were dropped!! I moaned let me tell you. Then all of a sudden our budget when sky high!! So we bit the bullet all summer and worked on getting it paid off. So I opened our bill so I could view it before paying as I do our bills online, and I was so excited and so happy to see its PAID!! Woo hoo Woo hoo! We pay the higher budet this month which will put us in the plus and they are lowering our budget!!!! Woo hoo.. Woo hoo!!!
For the record we got a new gas supplier which is how we were able to get this puppy slowly down all summer!! We are now paying $9.99 per MCF. Right now that is the lowest we can get!! So we should see a huge difference in the bill this winter!!!
February was our highest used month too!!!

Yesterday, the Sun was out and looked so beautiful out. The weather man on television said that this would be the last weekend to go and view all those beautiful colors because we have some winds coming in this week!! I been waiting for hubby to take a nature walk with me so since the game was on (frigging Browns, oh they won), I put on my tennis shoes and grabbed my camera and off I went.
I took 54 pictures yesterday!! I went to the Headlands Beach and leaves were already off trees. Nothing worth taking pictures except some critters. Then I drove the back way to get off the opposite side of exit so I could go slow for a red light and take a picture of the beautiful seen by the state route. Then it was off to Veteran’s Park! I took bunches there. I was walking the paths ALONE and saw some beautiful ducks and swans. I was definitely cold but was worth it. I didn’t go too much farther into the trail since I was ALONE. I stayed in the general area where there was people around, some fishing, some walking their dogs. Then it was off to the Mentor Beach, climbed down and stood on the rocks by the lake and took some pictures of the waves. Can we say brrrrr!! I took a few of the beautiful sky with the sea gulls flying, decided a few was enough cause I was cold, back in my car and off to the Marsh. I walked through the shadow woods ALONE till I got to the butterfly meadow and decided that was far enough ALONE although I wanted to walk through the marsh bridge, but again I was alone and it was kind of dark so I came home.
Isn’t it a shame that you can not feel secure in today’s time to talk a nature walk! With my luck I would of kept walking and taking pictures and come across a dead body or a drug deal or something. I would of flipped and freaked!!! I may love to watch CSI Miami, but that don’t mean I want to stumble across what should be a crime scene!!
I got tired of waiting for my hubby to take me. All summer I bugged him to go on one. I told him he has to go with me to Veteran’s Park for walking. I definitely want to go back in the winter for some more pictures and at the lake, I love to have some pictures of the lake frozen!!
I am behind in my scrapping but I am going to scrap the first date photo’s today!! Besides picking up the little one I watch, making dinner and cleaning with some laundry I hope to squeeze it in!!

Tonight my daughter went on her “First Date”. She was friends with this boy who graduated last school year. They had not talked since. Well a few weeks ago I suggest on after the Browns actually won a game about going to KFC for dinner, hubby really likes their chicken. So we pack the family into the car and went. She recognized him and they talked a little, he asked if she had a MySpace and it went from there and they reconnected. He really liked her and asked if like to go to the movies, a few weeks ago and set the date for tonight. They been talking back and forth in MySpace for hours and hours each night. He has gone to the school after school to walk her to her bus. He currently goes to school in the evenings for welding.
I took her this last Thursday for a haircut and she got a new look! So tonight was the big night. YES mom took pictures. Since he only has his temps, we had to drop her off at the movie theater, and his parents did the same. You could really tell he was nervous!! So of course MOM, thats me, took her camera so I could take a picture. I asked if he minded if I scrapped it and plastered it all over the internet and he said sure and laughed. I then said to him to be nice and my daughter came me a kiss on the cheek. We left. A few hours later she called and hubby picked her up. I took a picture of her ticket stub so you better believe there is a scrap page or two to come! I already found the perfect kit! She is just so excited and was lit up like a fire cracker.
So he asked if she would be his girlfriend. He said he is just crazy about her. Aww how sweet!! So it was a quick shower and she is now on MySpace LOL… So a new saga and venture for my sweet daughter.
Sure I cried tonight, big step for my not so little girl anymore but really have a good feeling about it.

I just have to blog about this to get this of my chest. Call it Humorous or call it a Rant, heck for the sake argument, a Humorous Rant.
So picture it if you will a knock at your door, mind you I was dishing up dinner to the family, and I open the door and its the Schwan’s Rep. So its a quick no I don’t need anything this time around, see you in two weeks and close the door. But I gotta tell you the dude had a flipping booger hanging out his nose all crusty and gross. Now let me STRESS this that, its NOT the FIRST time ok!
I mean why is it just a quick glance and your flipping eyes are like a beacon for finding the booger’s! Eww Gross!
Hello do you not see yourself in your rear view mirror or perhaps the side mirror, maybe a quick reflection in the ice? Perhaps when you stop to use the bathroom and your washing your hands take a look in the mirror. I mean OMG how can you miss that thing?
Would it be rude of me to perhaps greet him at the door with a box of tissues next time? OR maybe a manly roll of toilet tissue? A Q-tip or cotton ball? Gloves and a pair of tweezers perhaps?
Would it be rude to say umm dude you have a booger hanging out of your nose? AND how many other houses did he visit before he came to mind and NO one said anything to him? OMG I would be so embarrassed!
I have to admit standing in my doorway with a flipping crusty ole booger hanging out the dude’s nose doesn’t exactly make me want to get any products off the truck!!! No booger ice cream for me thanks but have a nice day!!

I was browsing through my old files and came across a few older pictures of my baby Twinkle when we first got her. She was my birthday gift October, 2005. I named her Twinkle from those beautiful big eyes. I really had to work with the ones on the top as they were resized from a tag I made to show my friends. I wish I had the originals (I am teary eyed) but I worked my magic and made this awesome layout. I love how she use to do what the other cats do, and my Whisper was my first baby kitty. So this is truly a special page for me.
Want to remodel my bathroom!!!

Hubby and I just put in a new toilet in the master bathroom. I have to admit its nice to have a working toilet in the master bath, not one that didn’t flush right, not to mention it was a 6 gallon flush and would can afford that now a days? But I have to tell you I so want to remodel the bathroom. I hate that old shower stall that is in there and the vanity. I have been looking at different bathroom vanities to find the one that jumps out and you know it’s the one! Ever since getting this house things just seem to need repaired and I have to keep putting it on hold. But one day I hope to finally get to remodel it!
