I don’t get it!

December 30, 2006

Mood :  irritated

You know I don’t get some people!  It’s always a fun thing when you join in on contests and feels great when you win, your like really? I won!  Cool.  Your excited to see you won a prize that will be personalized just for you!  But does it happen??  NO!  Did I expect it to?  Honestly when I seen where the prize was from, NO!  I am NOT going to pout or boo who for myself here!  Wasn’t meant to be and I can accept that!  But what I don’t get is how is this fair to the person who you commited too by offering it in the first place??  This is something that perplexes the mind!

Personally I think that they should be ashamed of themselves.  You don’t make a commitment you do not plan on keeping!!  What if this was someone else, how would that make them feel? How about the person who held the contest, I mean seriously they trusted you would follow through, so if they knew how would that make them feel??

How does one let this person know without appearing to be causing you know….DRAMA??  It’s not about me, its not about you, its the principal of the matter!   I dunno, personally speaking it’s just not right!    So I will just blog my frustration, after all its my blog right!  But what is important is, I had fun, whether or not I actually received the prize, I had fun just the same.

Will this stop me from entering more contests??  Well yes and no!  Yes I will enter them at sites I am a member in the spirit of fun, (even if the person who donated a prize for it doesn’t follow through),  but will I ever pay and enter a raffle or contest in the future?  Honestly?? NO! The last time I paid to enter a raffle, foul play happened for one, some who run the raffles picked prizes for themselves, which I think was pretty damn tacky!  If prizes are donated to you for your raffle, contest that others paid to enter, how fair is that to pick a prize for yourself??  I mean did you seriously pay yourself to enter?  That would just be silly!

Updating my Blog…

December 28, 2006

Mood :  accomplished

As you probably can see I am in the mist of updating and adding my pages of siggy collections back to my blog.  I had taken them down for Christmas as I have so many Christmas ones, I had enough to make pages of their own.

Man I have been sitting here plugging away and working, peeking to see how they look.  And man do I ever have a load of siggies!!  I can not display them all, I mean I could but your pages would be miles long to view them!!!

I am going to work on new themes soon.   I don’t have but just a few New Year Taggies, I would like to have some more!!!

So bear with me if you are visiting as I am working on my blog!!

Damn the U.S. MINT!!!

December 28, 2006

Mood :  pissed off

Well you know I am quite disappointed with the U.S. Mint right about now!!! H ubby collects coins,  well I heard him talking about the bison nickels and such to my dad one night, so for Christmas I went to the mint (online) and purchased him a few sets.  One of the sets arrived NOT only the wrap around the coins was ripped, hubby thought ok he would vac seal them and here these are nickels that have been already in circulation!!  And can’t send them back since hubby took the ripped wrapping off to vac seal them so they would not get dinged and banged up!!  I will not buy again!  If he does that his business but I will not purchase from the mint again.  And to send them back even if I could, is not worth it by time I pay shipping yet AGAIN!!!   Needless to say I am pissed off, as I might as well throw em in my purse and take them to coin star!!!!

Christmas is Finally Over!!

December 27, 2006

Boy am I ever T-I-R-E-D!!!  Long few days.  I was under the weather yesterday afternoon, just was exhausted!!  From the baking and extra things and preparing food to take to hubbys mom’s then the drive there and back then coming home to make peanut butter fudge for my dad (which by the way turned out crappy grr, trying a new recipe, this old one is just too tempermental, if too hot or too cold in the house it plays a part no more of that!!), then getting up before the sun on Christmas morning to bake cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate, then after opening pressies making Christmas Dinner, yep I was exhausted!!

Hubby’s mom gave us a hundred dollars and we got a kitchen cart, its so nice, has a drawer and then cupboard space underneath, so I could finally get the microwave off the counter and onto its new home yippee!!!  Had to make room for that food processor my daddy bought me!!!  Its a nice one, not those real expensive ones, but this is just what I need!!!  And with the new Toaster he also bought the kitchen is looking good!!  So that lead to some rearranging and such and hubby making fun of me because I am just “too damn fussy”, well its my kitchen what can I say!!!!  Counter Space is limited so I am really happy to have my kitchen cart now!!

Got rid of the bread maker that well plugged it in, shorted out so needless to say thats gone.  But ya know I never had the regular loaf shape one and I rather fancy the regular loaf shape so, going to stick with doing it the old fashioned way!!

Hubby got me a notebook computer (laptop), as I tend to want to be on the computer when he is watching TV (we don’t agree much on shows so I just don’t watch much tv) and he hates that I am not sitting in the living room with him so now I can sit with my feet up and be on the computer in the evenings while he is watching tv.  So I won’t do anything graphic wise in the evenings, just during the day and relax and enjoy my new notebook!!!  (I agreed to not “work” in the evenings anymore) So I guess this makes us both happy.  I am not stuck just watching shoot em bang up movies, I can put on my head phones, listen to my music, play games, or I can stick a dvd in or go to abc or cbs sites and watch some shows and well talk to my friends via messengers!!   I have to get use to the notebook and mouse set up still but so far I like it!!  If it will make hubby happy to have my sit on furniture instead of at my desk, then ok!!  As I have said when your home 24/7 the walls tend to creep I am not one to just sit and not be busy, I would go nuts!!!!  One can only cook, clean and such so much ya know!!

All in all, everyone had a good Christmas!!  I know most people wait until after New Years to put away their decorations but not me!  I do it the day after Christmas! Its so nice to have the house back in order!!  Plus with the cats, the longer its up the more trouble!!   Now I can enjoy the rest of the week and relax and enjoy my days off!!

Reason for the Season…Merry Christmas

December 24, 2006

Christmas Goodies Can We Say Exhausted!!

December 19, 2006

Well Christmas is fast approaching and have I started making any goodies yet?? hmmm???  Can we say NO!  Being I had surgery and still dealing with a few things I won’t be on my feet as much as usual but have a list of what I will be making.  Here is a list I may add as I am making things:

Buckeyes and Peanut Butter Fudge

Puppy Chow (chex mix)

Peanut  Butter Cookies,  Thumbprint Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies, M&M Cookies, Sugar Cookies, Butter Pecan Cookies, Russian Tea Cakes,  Oatmeal with Golden Raisins Cookies, Snickerdoodles, Chocolate Cookies, Spritz Cookies, Pizzelles (Italian Cookies)

Banana Bread, Nut Bread, Blueberry Bread.

Lots of goodies huh?  Think my family likes peanut butter??  My husband loves the buckeyes, and these are just awesome!!  The peanut butter fudge is a tradition every Christmas Eve for me to make!!  Its my dad’s most favorite fudge.  It’s my Grandma’s recipe and its the “OLD Fashioned Way” which is hours on my feet stirring, stirring and following a recipe that ways walnut size butter for example LOL

So in a little bit I am going to make the peanut butter filling for the buckeyes to make them tomorrow night.  Then Thursday its the National Bake Off in my Kitchen.

What do we do with all these cookies, personally I don’t touch em, OMG after making all those cookies I am sick of looking at them. I test the batter and one cookie for each kind to make sure it meets to my standards, and it not right, then yes I scrap and start over.  And it ticks me off.   I dunno what I would do without my Kitchen Aid Mixer either, I mean between that and my Maytag Gemini Stove (two ovens), I be up like I was 8 years ago using a wooden spoon!!  I be up till past midnight and be so exhausted I could not enjoy the holidays I know I torchure myself LOL but I love to bake.

So what I do is buy the pretty gift boxes and line them with wax paper and make up cookie gift packages with a variety of the goodies, throw in some Ande’s mints and deliver them to the neighbors, and our family!

Hey everyone,  our ISP email service has been down most of the day, so If you contacted me today and didn’t get a reply back its just because the service is down.

Christmas Lights!

December 16, 2006

Tonight we are going to all pile into the car to go and look at all the pretty Christmas lights!!  Wow I took the girls I watch the other night just close to home here and there was really decked out yards!!  So I am excited!  We do this each year with the kids and my dad.  I think we missed one  year cause of bad weather.  This year? Snow? Ha! Thats a joke right now.  Now two weeks ago that was another story, there wasn’t any school for two days and now nada, zip zilch.  So we won’t be dawning our snow gear to stay warm this year.  Just a jacket.  But I bet the lights will be as pretty as ever!!  I think the kids are like yeah yeah look at the lights cause the are “teens”, but gramps really enjoys it and its moments like this they will remember later on and say “remember when we use to go look at lights how gramps enjoyed it…”

Our lights this year well we have four lighted reindeer (two are motion), and some stars to light the walk (path) and inside our little porch/sun room I have Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus, with a 4ft christmas tree decorated with a star atop behind them and hanging star lights going across the top!  Heck when you turn on the lights outside it lights up the inside for us! We also have a light that hangs above the garage/door area that says Merry Christmas!!
